According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) next year Britain will have the biggest debt of any major economy. So much for prudent Gordon Brown.

According to the IMF Britain’s budget deficit will be a horrendous £191 billion. This equates to £7,600 for every family in the UK. Not only is this much higher than the official UK “projection” supplied by Chancellor Alistair Darling, it is way, way above the deficit for all the other major world economies.

Dear old “Prudence” Brown. Hasn’t he done well?

There is no doubt that despite the denials of Brown, Darling and the other New Labour incompetents the British economy is set fair to be the worst in the western world. Brown denies there will have to be any cuts in public spending. Indeed he attacks the Tories who are saying that there will need to be cuts. Indeed only a total nitwit would try to deny this obvious necessity. Gordon Brown is in denial. It is a bit like Hitler in 1944-45 insisting that Germany was winning the war. His Generals, Admirals and Air Marshals knew it was a total fantasy – but they didn’t actually have the guts to remove him from office. Plus la change!

Gordon Brown might actually destroy the Labour Party and make it unelectable. Thank goodness for that. But unfortunately it is too late to reverse the disastrous policies that have got us where we are.

Since 1997 the Labour Party under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown (as Chancellor and as Prime Minister) have destroyed the British economy and debased the whole political system. God help us if we don’t get rid of them.
